Why Boost Outdoors?
Jeremy Bouchard (Founder / Lead Guide), and business partner Sandi Coyle, bring lived experience with the physical, emotional, and spiritual elements of addiction recovery. Jeremy and Sandi intertwine their professional and personal experience to enhance the Boost mission and create opportunities for adventure-based healing as part of the recovery process.
Each trip is intentionally designed to help participants re-connect to the natural wonder of the world around them, open doorways to healthy lifestyle activities, and establish a network of positive and like-minded friends.
Boost specializes in customizing adventure packages and single outings that introduce participants to new outlets for sober fun and skill-building. Packages are tailored to support the unique needs of clients and accommodate all skill-levels, interests, and stages of recovery. Boost offers a diverse range of activities that promote self-esteem, physical and emotional resiliency, and feelings of personal accomplishment in a safe and supportive environment.
Boost recognizes the importance of multiple pathways to recovery and that true healing occurs when we support the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. SAMHSA states that a person's recovery is built on his or her strengths, talents, coping abilities, resources, and inherent values.
Through adventure in the outdoors, we scale experiences that are accessible to all levels yet challenging enough to inspire courage and self-motivation. During active addiction the brain's natural reward system is distorted and damages the sense of achievement and self-worth, self-confidence, resiliency and motivation. Boost works with treatment and recovery centers to enhance the early recovery process for clients with safe and supportive adventure-based programming.
Evidence clearly indicates that introducing clients in recovery to outdoor adventure awakens the brains natural reward system and is medicine for the soul.
